How to Keep Time from Kitchen to Classroom
Keeping time in mind in the kitchen means everything gets cooked or baked at the proper time and in the proper way.
A simple example would be boiling an egg. You may not get it right the first time, but once you pay attention to the timing it takes to boiling eggs, you’ll get it right every time!
In school, students will see that keeping their time management, helps with organizing and understanding the material needed to get assignments or projects done on time. So we will keep those in mind as we read through the rest of this article

But there are benefits to time management in school as well. Watch our video on the importance of time management skills to find the answers!
As you can see from the video, the two important benefits are that you can share more of your time with others and do more work inside or outside the class time.
How to Improve Time Management Skills
We now look at the five ways to improve your time management skills when it comes to learning. These recommended ways don’t have to be in any particular order.
I. Establish a Study Routine
It may take a few tries, but once you get into the habit of setting up when you study, it becomes a routine.
Do you prefer to study right when you get home or to take a mini-break first and then start studying?
I recommend going with a mini-break first (20 to 30 minutes) to help you relax before you start studying. Then organize your subjects in the order when assignments or tests are due.
For example, if you have an assignment due the next day, work on that assignment. If you have a project that is due at the end of the week, work on the project a little bit each day. Very few people can wait until the last minute to get things done and receive the perfect grades in school – those people are the ones who usually win the lottery.
Both figuratively and literally, we don’t like those people.
The rest of us need to consider time to focus to help get those top scores in school.

II. Set Up Your Study Schedule
Now that you have set up your study routine, consider planning out your time when it comes to the subjects.
I recommend using a calendar, to write down the assignments you have to do, so that you can see how much you accomplish and how long it takes to get your tasks done.
Doing this often will help to organize your time better, and help you decide when is the best time to take those much needed breaks in between your studies.
III. Set Up Breaks
You’re not a machine that can keep going for hours on end. It’s important to your mental and physical health to take breaks.
This has to do with your energy levels. If you find the material you are looking is not making sense, or getting confusing to look at, it’s time to take a break.
Some simple things you can do in between your studying is to leave the place you are studying to find a healthy snack, get in some simple exercises, talk with a friend of family member, something that will bring your energy levels up, not down!
What I don’t recommend is spending time on social media.
Before you click away, keep reading!
We all know that social media is meant to keep us entertained for hours on end. It will be a big distraction. So instead, keep your time on social media as a reward for the time you spent studying!
Thanks for making it this far without clicking away.
IV. Establish a Place to Study
When you find the right place to study, you will enjoy your time studying – and may end up calling that your happy place!
The right place to study is one that is away from any distractions. So that rules out studying on your bed, or in front of the t.v., or while the music is on.
Your focus should be on understanding your studies, and how you will learn the material. The faster you fully understand and learn the material, the more time you will save!
V. Set a Time to Stop Studying
There will be some days where the assignments seem long, and the projects seem to take forever.
Learning to listen to your mind when it is sick and tired of studying, means you have to put a time limit.
This means you also have to have sleep routine. You should go to sleep at the same time every night. It helps with improving your memory.
So when you set a time to stop studying. That means you go right to sleep. It doesn’t mean you spend the rest of the night on your social media accounts!
Before going to sleep, set your alarm to wake up half an hour earlier than your usual time in case you have to finish any part of the assignment you didn’t finish the night before.
Staying on Time in School
Students may find many benefits to keeping a personal journal as a study or activity planner to help them keep track of what they have done, or when they will complete the work. Promptly Journals can help highlight your day as part of your recipe for success.
